San Telmo Heaven
South West Mallorca
Our base is San Telmo in the extreme south west corner of Mallorca.
Arrive in San Telmo and at 20.00h approx. we all dine together.
“Puig d’en Farineta”. After breakfast we transfer to the pretty hamlet of S’Arraco to climb to a stunning viewpoint atop dramatic cliffs offering commanding views of the south west.
“San Telmo – Port Andratx”. This is a walk of contrasts. We set off from the serenity of our base over a series of rolling hills and a spectacular coll to arrive at a place, which is more French Riviera than Mallorca. Port Andratx is a playground for the rich and famous with it’s cosmopolitan array of boats and boutiques.
“Sa Trapa”.The ruins of a Trappist monastery dating back to the Napoleonic wars is our destination today.
A classic walk passing through pretty woodland, vast limestone wilderness and complimented throughout by panoramic coastal vistas.
Free day to explore Andratx town market or take a boat trip to the fascinating island of Dragonera.
“Banyalbufar – Estellencs”. Banyalbufar village is very distinct with cultivated terraces rolling down to the sea, like an immense green staircase. The community’s business used to be tomatoes but in recent times tourism and the new interest in wine and vineyards have taken over. Our walk takes us south through oaks and big farmsteads along a wide balcony path high above the shimmering Med. Estellencs is full of warm sandstone buildings, making it a joy to visit and hard to leave.
“Cap Figuera” rounds off the week. This is a walk along rugged coastline near Portals Vells passing caves, idyllic coves and an abandoned military camp, which is now the home to all kinds of seabirds.
What’s included :
What’s not included :
The holiday is a land tour, which means it’s up to you to organise flights to Palma
and get connecting transport to and from San Telmo.
If you’d like a taxi booking or a bus timetable, we’d be only too happy to help.
Please note :-
Hotels and Apartments in the Balearics, now impose a small tourist tax. Unfortunately this cannot be included in the holiday cost. The rate of tax varies on location and the star rating of the hotel; reception will ask for this tax in cash (approximately €0.75 - €2 per person, per night).
Level of difficulty :
The attraction for most doing this tour will be the warmth and sunshine at this time of the year (75 degrees on average). Please note: we’ll have much earlier starts if the weather is hot. The week is graded C+/B overall with some steep bits, but if you’re used to mountain walking you’ll have no problems.
Well worn in walking boots are essential.
Please note: while the intention is to adhere to the tour itinerary you’ve just read, a degree of informality and flexibility is built in. There may be some variation to the basic tour depending on the weather.
Group Size 14 Max.
